Transfer news: Birmingham have confirmed midfielder David Dunn has left the club to rejoin Blackburn for "an undisclosed fee", thought to be a package worth around €3 million.
Rovers were given permission to talk to the player this morning after agreeing a fee despite the 27-year-old having passed a medical at Bolton yesterday.
Dunn has been seeking a move to his native north-west since the start of the January transfer window, having failed to really impress at St Andrews due to persistent injuries.
Dunn previously made 169 appearances for Rovers, helping the club gain promotion back to the Premiership and win the Worthington Cup in 2002.
But after a bitter fall-out with Graeme Souness he was sold to Birmingham for £5.5million in 2003 but his time at St Andrews was marred by injury.
• China international Dong Fangzhou has signed a new deal with Manchester United and has been cleared to play for the Premiership leaders.
The 21-year-old forward has signed a contract which lasts until 2010 and is now able to make his competitive debut having received a work permit.
United manager Alex Ferguson said: "We're all excited he has eventually arrived and can start playing.
"He sacrificed two and a half years at Royal Antwerp, which showed great patience and determination. He is quick and athletic and he can only improve by training with the first team squad here."
United signed Dong from Dalian Shide three years ago.
