Edin Dzeko's agent says the striker will not be leaving Wolfsburg in January but admits AC Milan are interested in signing the 23-year-old.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina international has caught the eye of a number of major European clubs after a successful spell with the German champions since moving from FK Teplice in 2007.
Dzeko will line up for Wolfsburg against Manchester United in the Champions League on Tuesday, having scored at Old Trafford the last time the two sides met, and speculation has mounted regarding a move to the Red Devils.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has played down reports linking the forward to the club, although assistant Mike Phelan has recently hinted that the Premier League champions are interested in the player.
However, Dzeko's agent Irfan Redzepagic has revealed that Wolfsburg have been in contact with Milan since the summer, although he does not expect any deal to be done in the January transfer window.
"The contacts with Milan and Wolfsburg go back to the summer, but there are no conditions for a transfer," he said in the Daily Telegraph.
"The player has a contract with Wolfsburg and he is busy in the Bundesliga. As things stand, I can exclude a January move."
