Arsenal and Manchester United face tricky away ties while the top two welcome Burnley and Newcastle

Tim Sherwood expects to have an almost fully-fit squad for his first game in charge of Aston Villa. Nathan Baker (knee) and Philippe Senderos (calf) are out and Gabby Agbonlahor (hamstring) has been struggling but Scott Sinclair is pushing to start. Libor Kozak continues his recovery from a broken leg.

Ryan Shawcross remains out for Stoke with a back problem and is joined on the sidelines by the suspended Geoff Cameron.

Burnley welcome Stephen Ward back into the squad for the first time in two and a half months having recovered from a fractured ankle. Dean Marney has undergone successful surgery on his cruciate ligament injury while Matt Taylor suffered a slight setback in his recovery from Achilles surgery but is back training.

Crystal Palace could welcome back captain Mile Jedinak from an ankle injury.

Shola Ameobi is now up to match fitness after joining in January and James McArthur (thigh) could also be involved. Jonny Williams (groin) is likely to miss out along with Yaya Sanogo, who is ineligible.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is in line to return from three months out with an ankle injury. Right-back Hector Bellerin (ankle) faces a fitness test while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (groin) is back in full training but is unlikely to return. Aaron Ramsey (hamstring), Mikel Arteta (ankle), Abou Diaby (calf) and Mathieu Debuchy (shoulder) all continue their rehabilitation.

Striker Robin van Persie is available for Manchester United having sat out the 3-1 win over Preston due to an unspecified injury. Centre-half Phil Jones has overcome his knee problem but midfielder Michael Carrick (calf) is out.

Newcastle left-back Paul Dummett (knee) is facing up to 12 weeks on the sidelines while Steven Taylor (Achilles) remains a long-term casualty. Remy Cabella damaged a knee in training to join Siem de Jong (collapsed lung) and Cheick Tiote (knee) in the treatment room.
