Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o was again on target as Cameroon beat Togo 2-0 in Cairo to qualify for the African Nations Cup quarter-finals.
Eto'o, who netted a hat-trick in his side's opening victory over Angola, lit up a forgettable Group B clash when he opened the scoring with a blistering 25-yard strike in the 68th minute.
He then turned provider to set up Albert Meyong Ze for the second in the closing stages.
Togo were poor for the second game running and are now eliminated having failed to score a goal or gain a point. It was hardly the start they had hoped for to their World Cup year.
Togo at least had new Arsenal signing Emmanuel Adebayor back in their starting line-up after a few days dominating the headlines following a bust-up with coach Stephen Keshi.
Adebayor had the best of the few chances that fell Togo's way, heading over early on and then being denied by the outstretched leg of Cameroon goalkeeper Hamidou Souleymanou in the second half.
Otherwise Cameroon had the better of an error-ridden encounter. Achille Webo hit a good chance over and Eto'o clipped the post with the second of two opportunities that fell his way in the first half.
Geremi had a free-kick deflected onto the bar after the break and Eto'o finally broke through with his stunning strike midway through the second half.
Meyong Ze finished the job with a backheel from inside the six-yard box six minutes from time after a strong run from Eto'o.
The Democratic Republic of Congo look likely to join Cameroon in the last eight after holding out for a draw against Angola with 10 men.
DR Congo deservedly had Tresor Mputu sent off after just 18 minutes for a wild kick at Kali but Angola could not capitalise and paid the price for some poor finishing by captain Akwa.
Pascal Kalemba twice saved from Akwa and Angola were denied a clear penalty when Gladys Bokese brought down Flavio.
Portsmouth's DR Congo captain Lomana LuaLua missed chances at the other end but with four points from two games, his side are well poised to go through.
