Spain coach Luis Aragones returned to his first-choice XI, which does not include Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas, for tonight's Euro 2008 quarter-final against Italy as the Iberian nation looked to avoid becoming the fourth group winner to tumble out at the quarter-final stage.
David Villa, the tournament's leading scorer with four goals, was one of 10 players brought back into the Spain side for this match after Aragones opted to rest most of his team for their final group game against Greece.
Barcelona centre-back Carles Puyol was also passed fit to line up in defence, while Italy coach Roberto Donadoni was without suspended midfielders Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso, while defender Andrea Barzagli will miss the remainder of the tournament because of a knee injury suffered in training.
In place of Gattuso and Pirlo, Donadoni selected Massimo Ambrosini and Alberto Aquilani for the match at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadion, otherwise it was the same Italy side that beat France 2-0 to make it out of the 'Group of Death'.
