St Patrick's Athletic midfielder Keith Fahey has been named the eircom/Soccer Writers' Association of Ireland player of the month for March.
Fahey has scored twice for Pat's already this season and was instrumental in their opening four wins of the campaign.
Against derby rivals Bohemians he struck a contender for goal of the season from 35 yards, while in the Setanta Cup he secured a point for John McDonnell's side against Glentoran with a late equaliser to level scores at 3-3.
The Tallaght-man, who had an unhappy stint with Drogheda United, says he is enjoying his football this season, but insists he can still improve.
"I'm playing well enough and I'm enjoying playing in the middle. I can get better, I think I'm improving every day in training, it's something I've noticed. I'm enjoying my football. It's all about the team though, that's the main thing," says Fahey.
"I am getting better at tackling. It's always something I've been aware of that I'm not a great tackler, I don't think I'll ever be a great ball winner but I read the game fairly well and can win a few tackles."
"The last couple of years, and with Drogheda, there was a lot of pressure on me to do things in games. We've got better players now and it's better for me because there is pressure on everyone."
