In contrast to last week's farcical runaround it now appears the FAI will make an effort to inform of their every move as they attempt to find a replacement for Steve Staunton.
After the 10-man board met today a brief statement was released tonight on the association's website and read: "The Football Association of Ireland's Board of Management met today to discuss the senior international team manager position."
"Several people, with considerable football experience in the professional game, will now be approached to assess their willingness and availability to participate in the recruitment process and make a recommendation to the Board of the Association."
Former Irish internationals, Niall Quinn and Kevin Moran, plus former English FA boss David Davies are some of the names mooted for the advisory role.
