Extra tickets have been made available to Republic of Ireland supporters travelling for the European qualifier against Slovakia on September 8th but they will not go on public sale.

Fans have already snapped up the initial 2,500 tickets allocated by the Slovakian FA last month but the FAI received a further 3,500 today.

It brings the total Irish ticket allocation to 6,000 for the game at the 30,000 capacity Tehelne Pole in Bratislava.

Tickets received today have been allocated to the association's account holders who applied but missed out on the initial ballot.

Four days after the Slovakian game Ireland play the Czech Republic at the 20,565 capacity Toyota Arena in Prague.  Approximately 2,500 tickets were made available for Irish supporters last month.

Should additional tickets become available in the coming weeks, the FAI have said they will not accept new applications as they cannot meet demand for the allocation already issued.

• The draw for the League Cup semi-final which was postponed yesterday for "logistical reasons" has been rescheduled for Monday next at noon.

Holders Derry City, Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers and UCD are the four teams awaiting the draw.

The semi-finals are due to be played on August 6th and 7th with the final set for October 9th.
