Under-fire manager Gareth Farrelly is adamant his is still the man to steer Bohemians from their slump despite increasing pressure from a section of the club's support for him to stand down.

The Dublin outfit are currently languishing in eighth spot in the Premier Division with just 13 points from 13 games and only 10 off bottom placed Waterford United.

Their misery was compounded further last Friday with a 2-0 defeat at home to Sligo Rovers.  Some supporters congregated at the tunnel on the whistle and berated the player-manager as he left the field.

"Until anyone tells me differently, I am absolutely the man for this job," said Farrelly.

"It (criticism) doesn't bother me at all, and I've said that from the start. But I don't think it helps young players in any shape or form."

Friday's scoreline flattered Sligo somewhat as although they deserved full points, Bohemians could have salvaged a draw such was the array of scoring opportunities which came their way.

"It's incredibly frustrating. We created double figure chances again but two schoolboy mistakes created big problems for us. Its like groundhog day coming here on Friday nights at  the moment.

"It's not any one major thing that's wrong for us at the moment, it's a collection of little things.  And when you put all those together it becomes a big problem."

Farrelly confirmed he will be active in the transfer market which opens this weekend, but refused to be drawn on which areas of his squad he would bolster.

"This is a massive club that should be winning things, I'm a winner and want to be winning things.  I'm incredibly frustrated at certain things and the window will give us an opportunity to change it around."

Sligo manager Sean Connor believes Farrelly should be given until the end of the season, at least, to turn things around but questioned whether Farrelly would feel for him if he was under pressure.

"Gareth is a very experienced man who has been around the game and will be able to deal with that pressure," he said. "Too many clubs are ready to jump on the bandwagon and get rid of a manager.

"If Gareth goes then someone else has to come it and that will take a while and, ultimately, will that benefit Bohemians football club? Would Gareth feel for me if I was under pressure? I don't know."
