Setanta Sports Cup: Glentoran will join Derry City in the last four of the Setanta Cup after both sides rounded off their Group Two campaigns with victories this evening. Derry, already assured of a place in the semi-finals, defeated Linfield 3-0 while St Patrick's Athletic went down 1-0 at Glentoran.

A delightful Mark Farren hat-trick sealed top spot in the pool for Derry at the Brandywell. Farren, who linked superbly well with strike partner Sammy Morrow all evening, had the visitors on the back foot with a deft flick to open the scoring in the opening period.

And the former Finn Harps front man slammed home a first time volley from Morrow's cross midway through the second half to make sure Stephen Kenny's side would enjoy home advantage in the knock-out stages. Farren completed the scoring six minutes from time, again profiting from Morrow's vision before finishing from a tight angle.

St Pat's, meanwhile, travelled to the Oval knowing only a win would keep their interest in the competition alive. But having fallen behind to Daryl Fordyce's early strike the visitors were unable to get back on terms and bow out in fourth and last place.
