PREMIER LEAGUE ROUND-UP/Fulham 3 Middlesbrough 0:Fulham climbed to eighth in the Premier League with a three-goal demolition of Middlesbrough at Craven Cottage.

Goals from Jimmy Bullard, Danny Murphy (penalty) and Clint Dempsey ensured the Cottagers stretched their unbeaten run to seven games.

It left Middlesbrough without a win in six matches and continuing to flirt with the edges of the relegation zone.

Bolton 2 Portsmouth 1:Matt Taylor made sure the hand of friendship over Christmas did not extend to his old friends at Portsmouth — at least on the field.

The Bolton midfielder opened the scoring after just 49 seconds at the Reebok Stadium.

Ricardo Gardner extended their lead two minutes later and although Peter Crouch pulled a goal back, the damage had already been done.

It was a clever finish from Taylor as well. He clipped the ball over Hermann Hreidarsson following Kevin Davies' flick on with Andy O'Brien also involved in the move.
