Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson made six changes as his side attempted to recover a 1-0 deficit in tonight’s Carling Cup semi-final second leg against Derby at Old Trafford.

Goalkeeper Ben Foster, right-back Rafael, midfielders Ryan Giggs and Darron Gibson and forwards Danny Welbeck and Nani were all brought in — having not started in Saturday’s victory Bolton.

Twenty-one-year-old Zoran Tosic was named on the bench, having been unveiled last week after his move from Partizan Belgrade. Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher were was also among the substitutes.

Paul Connolly and Jordan Stewart both returned from suspension for Derby after missing the weekend defeat to QPR, with Steve Davies and Gary Teale also brought into the starting line-up.
