Charlton appear to have won the race to sign Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, with the striker reportedly set for a medical at The Valley tomorrow.
The Dutch striker, a free agent after his contract at Middlesbrough expired, has no shortage of admirers with the Addicks, Fulham and Sheffield United all known to be keen on the former Leeds and Chelsea star.
Celtic held talks with the former Holland international last week, but failed to match his wage demands - allowing other clubs to step in.
And it would now appear that new Charlton manager Iain Dowie has come up with a suitable package for the Dutchman as Hasselbaink will go through the rigours of a medical tomorrow.
Dowie will be hoping a forward line of Hasselbaink and Darren Bent can steer the Addicks to a top-half finish and possibly a push to bring European football to The Valley.
