SOCCER: Former player manager Dave Hill has been named the new Cobh Ramblers manager and takes over from Stephen Henderson who was unable to keep the Cork side in the eircom League Premier Division last season.
Hill spent two seasons as a player manager at St Colman’s Park until 2004 before joining rivals Cork City as assistant manager.
The 42-year-old’s priority is to get Cobh back into the top division after they were relegated at the end of last season. He will be assisted by Darragh Burke and Alan O’Sullivan with Simon Burke and Peter Rowe completing the backroom team.
The new manager is due to hold his first pre-season training session later this week.
