Hull City boss Phil Brown has confirmed he is interested in bringing Michael Owen to the KC Stadium.
The former England striker is out of contract at Newcastle at the end of the month and is looking for a move back to the Premier League.
The Tigers want to strengthen their attacking options after only beating the drop by a single point last season.
Brown said in the Hull Daily Mail: "It's something that has been sounded out as a possibility, but, as yet, there has been no offer put to Michael.
"He has got a proven track record as a goalscorer and that's an area we are keen to strengthen, but it would have to be on the right terms."
Celtic are also reported to be interested in signing Owen and would offer the striker a return to the Champions League.
