Soccer:Inter Milan coach Gian Piero Gasperini expects Wesley Sneijder to play in this weekend's Italian Super Cup in Beijing despite reports the midfielder is set to join Manchester United. Sneijder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with some reports suggesting the deal could be sewn up as early as this week.

That looks unlikely after the Dutch midfielder touched down in China with his team-mates last night ahead of their derby clash against AC Milan.

“He’s playing for us, training with us and he’ll play on Saturday,” Gasperini told a press conference today. “There is no Sneijder problem.”

Speculation that Sneijder could move to England has persisted despite United boss Alex Ferguson also denying he has been in contact with the player.

Sneijder did, however, hint yesterday that he could be tempted to leave Inter, saying: “Maybe. I have played in many big competitions in Holland, Spain and Italy and I’m still here. What is going to happen we will see but I am a happy guy. There is always a chance something will happen but we will see.”

For now, though, the 27-year-old is focused on this weekend’s match and told reporters after landing in Beijing: “It’s the first time I have set foot in China. It is an honour for me. We are here to play an important match. It is special for two reasons — because we are in China and because it is a derby.

“I am convinced that Inter can do well and I will do everything to make this happen. We want to win. We’re here to win.”
