The FAI have confirmed the ticket allocations Ireland will receive for their three Group E games in next summer's European Championships.
Martin O’Neill’s men have been handed a difficult draw for Euro 2016 but thousands are expected to make the trip to France despite qualification for the knockout stages looking like a tough ask.
Ireland’s first game is against Sweden at the Stade de France on June 13th and supporters will rrecive an allocation of 13,000 tickets.
Next up is Belgium in Bordeaux on June 18th where the allocation will be 6,000, before the final group game against Italy on June 22nd in Lille where 7,000 Ireland fans will get tickets.
The FAI have said applications for tickets are oppen to all Ireland supporters, with preference given to, “Supporters Clubs, Season Ticket holders, Fans Direct members, and supporters who have accumulated a significant number of points.”
The FAI also announced an extra 2,000 tickets have been awarded to each participating nation per game, meaning Ireland’s overall tickets for each group game will increase to 15,000, 8,000 and 9,000.
These extra tickets will be distributed to match going fans unsuccessful in the first ballot and to ‘the Football Family.’
Ireland fans can apply for the tickets through Uefa until January 18th 2016.
Meanwhile Versailles has been confirmed as the team’s base for the tournament. The historic city, just outside Paris, the FAI say is the ideal location for the squad, with matches in Paris, Bordeaux, and Lille during the group stage of the competition.
The Trianon Palace has been selected for the team to stay in with training to take place at the local municipality football facility, which is home to AFC Versailles.
