Jenas makes timely intervention

Premiership round-up : A late Jermaine Jenas strike gave Tottenham only their second away league win of the season

Premiership round-up: A late Jermaine Jenas strike gave Tottenham only their second away league win of the season.  Everton fans were far from happy with boss David Moyes' after the 2-1 defeat and vented their fury at his cautious approach.

Spurs had taken the lead after 34 minutes through Dimitar Berbatov, his 15th goal of the season, only for Mikel Arteta to grab a stunning equaliser with a curling 25-yard free-kick.

In tonight's other game in the Premiership, Wigan boss Paul Jewell was left to rue another controversial refereeing decision  but watched his 10-man side edge a further point away from the relegation zone with a 1-1 draw at Watford.

Jewell believed referee Phil Dowd contributed to his team's 2-1 defeat at Arsenal earlier this month, and he was left perplexed again here when Fitz Hall was harshly shown a straight red card in the 20th minute for a challenge on Johan Cavalli.

Jewell must have feared the worst when Darius Henderson put the home side in front shortly after, but Caleb Folan equalised five minutes before the interval.

That ensured the Latics collected a deserved point and moved five points clear of the drop zone, while the Hornets are now six points adrift of safety.
