Republic of Ireland defender John O’Shea found the positives after their 0-0 friendly draw with Wales in Cardiff.

It was a drab game at the City of Cardiff Stadium but the Manchester United player was happy that his side had not conceded.

O’Shea told Sky Sports 1: “I am a little bit disappointed. We had a couple of chances to win the game but it wasn’t to be.

“I will take the positives and I’ll take a clean sheet all day. We knew coming here it was going to be the test we wanted.”
