Juventus have warned interested parties they are determined to hold on to as many players as they can despite facing life in a lower division next season.

The Bianconeri are facing relegation to Serie B, and possibly Serie C, if found guilty of match-fixing, and leading teams around Europe are lining up with bids for their numerous stars.

However, Juve sporting director Alessio Secco warned: "We want everyone to be well aware that we are not a supermarket. Of course, it's not easy. We have received so many offers, especially from abroad.

"It's better not to make too many changes and to have a strong squad, even if it's more costly than having to re-construct it later on. To make money now is not our priority."

Juve are set to find out their fate tomorrow but are optimistic they will not be playing in the third tier next season.

"We are not thinking about Serie C," said Secco. "We are working with the view of playing in Serie B next term in order to get back as soon as possible in the top division and then to return to the Champions League. This is our strategy."

Real Madrid, who appointed former Juve boss Fabio Capello as their new coach earlier this month, have confirmed they want centre-half Fabio Cannavaro while Barcelona are keen to sign full-back Gianluca Zambrotta.

Another World Cup winner, goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, has been linked with a move to Internazionale.

"We will decide on each individual case alongside new coach Didier Deschamps," said Secco. "We will also evaluate the players' willingness to remain, their wages, and the length of their contracts.

"In any case, whoever goes, it doesn't mean that they will leave on a permanent transfer but rather we will try to look at loan deals."
