Scottish round-up: Less than 24 hours after missing out on the eircom League title, new Dunfermline manager Stephen Kenny inspired his new charges as the Pars battled back to claim a dramatic three points against Dundee United.
United deserved Barry Robson's 52nd-minute opener. But the Fifers roared back with goals from Greg Shields and Gary Mason for a stunning success which kept them in touch with the Tayside club at the foot of the table.
Kenny, who addressed his new players in the dressing room after leaving Derry City last night, watched his side haul themselves back into the relegation dogfight with their first win since September 23rd.
Champions Celtic strolled to a 3-0 home win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle to extend their lead to 15 points. Dutch striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink's close-range shot took a deflection into the net for the opener two minutes from the interval.
The Dutchman drilled in a half volley from 12 metres after a cross by Paul Telfer on 71 minutes which flashed into the bottom right-hand corner. Jiri Jarosik headed in the third.
Celtic top the standings with 40 points from 15 games while Aberdeen are in second place with 25 points. Hibernian, Rangers, Hearts and Kilmarnock are all on 22 points.
