Disciplinary: Harry Kewell could miss Australia's final group match after Fifa charged him with insulting German referee Markus Merk after yesterday's 2-0 defeat to Brazil.
Merk reported the Liverpool winger for swearing at him several times after the final whistle and disciplinary proceedings have been opened.
A decision will be announced before Australia's last game of Group F against Croatia in Stuttgart on Thursday.
Kewell has until tomorrow to respond, should he wish.
Fifa's disciplinary committee are also still studying the USA v Italy match in which there were three red cards.
Italy's Daniele de Rossi and the USA's Pablo Mastroeni and Eddie Pope will all miss at least one match and a decision on whether they will receive extra suspension will be announce before Friday.
De Rossi, in particular, is in danger of further bans after elbowing Brian McBride in the face during the 1-1 draw, leaving the Fulham striker bloodied.
"I have left him to boil in his own soup," said Italy coach Marcello Lippi who intends discussing the incident with the player today. "He is a fantastic guy, but he must change his computer chip."
