Soccer:Republic of Ireland under-21 manager Noel King named a 19-player, home-based squad to take on an Irish amateur squad at St Michael's FC in Tipperary on Saturday (2pm).
“We did a similar exercise in the AUL before Christmas when we played Gerry Smith’s amateurs and it was very worthwhile and successful,” said King.
“Enda Stephens played in that match and went on to play for the under-21’s in Cyprus. We now want to cast our net a little further and look at Munster based players as we continue to build the best possible under-21 squad for the Euro Qualifiers.”
