Transfer news:Joleon Lescott has been dropped from Everton's squad for their Europa League qualifying match against Sigma Olomouc, fuelling speculation that a move to Manchester City is imminent.
Lescott did not train with the first-team squad earlier today following weeks of transfer speculation linking him with City, who have had two bids rejected for the defender.
Everton boss David Moyes said: "Joleon's attitude has not been right these past days, he has disappointed me and he has disappointed his team-mates. He is not in the right frame of mind."
But Moyes insisted he still does not want to sell the player, saying: "I hope this will all be sorted out, after the (transfer) deadline."
Spanish full-back Michel Salgadohas joined Blackburn Roverson a two-year deal. The defender, capped 53 times, had his Real Madrid contract cancelled by mutual consent earlier this month and is now awaiting international clearance before he can make his debut.
During his time at the Bernabeu, the 33-year-old helped the club to two European Cup triumphs and four league titles.
He is heading back to Madrid next week to say goodbye at a match arranged in his honour against Rosenborg on Monday.
Salgado is relishing the challenge that lies ahead after revealing he almost moved to England five years ago.
He told rovers.co.uk: "I had a chance to come to Chelsea but I was lucky too because my team was Real Madrid.
"I love the club, I was there 10 years - it is a lifetime. I am proud of playing for them for so long.
"Now I want to enjoy the next two years, playing in the Premier League. It is one of the best in the world.
"Not only that it is pure football - fantastic games and a fantastic atmosphere. This will be a good experience for me, my wife and children. I have joined a historic club."
Rafael Benitezwill not approve any further sales of Liverpoolplayers as his team struggles to cope with a growing injury list. The Anfield chief has dismissed speculation winger Albert Riera and striker Andriy Voronin could be leaving, with Barcelona and Hertha Berlin, respectively, showing interest.
Riera was left out of the squad that lost 2-1 at Tottenham last Sunday, but Benitez maintains that was purely because of his lack of training last week due to a minor injury.
Voronin, who came on as substitute at White Hart Lane, was on loan to Hertha last season and there have been suggestions the German club are preparing a €3.3million bid.
But the Spaniard's current squad is hit by injuries and it has been revealed he has not been able to spend the transfer budget this summer he was expecting.
Benitez said: "Nobody will be sold because we need all our players. We can't afford to lose anyone else.
"The Premier League is very difficult and we have to keep everyone we have at the moment."
