Transfer News:Liverpool winger Sebastian Leto is to join Greek outfit Panathinaikos. The 22-year-old Argentinian spent last season on loan with Pana's rivals Olympiacos after work permit problems prevented him playing for the Premier League club.
Leto signed for the Reds in August 2007, making his debut in a Champions League qualifier against Toulouse later that month and going on to make three further senior appearances.
Bolton manager Gary Megson has signed Sean Davis on a free transfer — six months after Portsmouth rejected a £3.5million bid for the midfielder.
Megson has beaten a number of clubs for the 29-year-old’s services after his contract at Fratton Park expired.
Davis has agreed a three-year deal and Megson said: “We are delighted to have signed such an experienced Premier League footballer.
“Sean made 40 appearances last season for Portsmouth and he will strengthen our midfield.
“We wanted to bring him to the Reebok in January but our bid of £3.5million was turned down by Portsmouth, who didn’t want him to leave.”
London-born Davis has made nearly 200 top-flight appearances with Fulham, Tottenham and Portsmouth.
He is also a former England Under-21 international, earning 12 caps between 2000 and 2002.
Portsmouth have since confirmed the release of Noe Pamarot, Lauren, Glen Little, Djimi Traore and Jerome Thomas - but are weighing up a new deal for out-of-contract captain Sol Campbell.
Former Arsenal and England defender Campbell and Nigerian striker Kanu have both come to the end of their current deals.
However, Pompey executive chairman Peter Storrie revealed talks with the duo could take place to extend their stays.
“There are not any discussions going on with Sol at the moment. In terms of whether there will be further discussions, we will look at it next week,” Storrie told the club’s official website, www.portsmouthfc.co.uk.
“Kanu has the option of another year, which he is considering.”
Pompey have yet to confirm a permanent management team for next season, after Paul Hart and Brian Kidd took charge over the closing months of the season following Tony Adams’ dismissal.
