FA Cup third round replays: Leroy Lita sparked an impressive comeback by Reading as he fired a hat-trick to send West Brom crashing out.

Two first-half goals from Richard Chaplow appeared to have put the Premiership side in control but five minutes after half-time Lita beat Chris Kirkland with a shot on the turn from John Oster's cross.

The striker blasted a first-time effort from 25 yards past the on-loan Liverpool `keeper for the equaliser in the 65th minute and then slotted home a right-footed effort in the third minute of extra time to send the Coca-Cola Championship leaders through to face Birmingham at home.

Wigan showed nerves of steel to win a penalty shoot-out 4-2 after their entertaining clash against Leeds at Elland Road finished 3-3 after extra-time.

The Premiership side scored all their spot-kicks with Graham Kavanagh netting the decider after David Healy and Rob Hulse both missed.

Wigan led three times in the match through Andreas Johansson and two Jason Roberts goals but on each occasion Leeds found a response, through Healy (twice) and a stunning drive from Gary Kelly five minutes from the end of extra time.

Wigan now play Manchester City at Eastlands.

Non-league Tamworth came within 10 minutes of pulling off a major shock but eventually lost 5-4 on penalties to Coca-Cola Championship side Stoke, who now host Walsall.

Mikael Forssell had Blues' best chance of the first half when he hit the post in the 25th minute from Julian Gray's cross.

But there was a sigh of relief around St Andrews when, in the 61st minute, on-loan Chelsea midfielder Jiri Jarosik stuck out his leg to deflect in Neil Kilkenny's shot.

Forssell made the match safe for the Premiership strugglers with the second nine minutes from  time.

Middlesbrough avoided an upset in their replay at the Riverside with a comfortable 5-2 victory over Nuneaton.

The Conference North side held out until the 34th minute when Chris Riggott beat the offside trap to hook the ball over Darren Acton and in off the post.

Gaizka Mendieta was fouled in the penalty area by Stuart Whittaker in the 42nd minute Aiyegbeni Yakubu made it 2-0 from the spot.

Stuart Parnaby, Yakubu and Mark Viduka made the game safe after half-time and, although Gez Murphy scored twice in the last 19 minutes, one a penalty, Boro now face Coventry in the next round.

League Two Cheltenham set up a dream fourth-round tie at home to Newcastle with a 1-0 victory at Chester.

John Melligan's 52nd-minute corner was not cleared properly, and Kayode Odejayi fired home.

Walsall moved into the next round, overcoming League One rivals Barnsley 2-0. Michael Leary put the home side ahead in the 68th minute, and Kevin James secured the result 10 minutes later.
