Lyon winger Florent Malouda has admitted he will leave the club before the end of June though he was not forthcoming on his most likely destination.

The France winger, who was speaking from the international training camp at Clairefontaine, is believed to be a target for Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez as he goes in search of a reliable left-sided player.

"I'm on my way out," Malouda told reporters today. "It's just a question of time. (Lyon president) Jean-Michel Aulas has said June 30 was the limit (for transfers) and that suits me."

However, according to Aulas, there has been no approach from Liverpool. "We have not yet had any bid for Florent Malouda," he told the club's official website, www.olweb.fr.

Another target of Benitez's is full back Daniel Alves of Sevilla.  The Brazilian's agent has for the first time been quoted as saying he will leave the Spanish club for a top tier team in the summer.

Benitez recently aired his frustration at not being able to conclude deals quickly.  That anxiety is likely to have heightened since last night after Premiership champions Manchester United splashed out on the young Portugal-based duo Anderson and Nani.

With the imminent arrival of Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves at Old Trafford and the recent insistence of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich that he has no intention of cutting spending at the club, the pressure is really on Benitez to begin making big signings.

Benitez today confirmed the club will keep veteran defender Sami Hyypia after rumours emerged of an Anfield exit for the Finnish international.

"It's true I spoke to Sami and I told him I wanted him to stay," said the Spaniard.  "I expect Sami to be with us for the start of pre-season. He is a good professional and it's not easy to find defenders with his experience.

"I told Sami I need him here and the positive thing is he wants to stay with us."
