Soccer:Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is hoping to use captain Carlos Tevez off the bench in Tuesday's Premier League clash against Tottenham.
The Argentina international, who has 19 league goals for the club this term, has been on the sidelines since suffering a hamstring injury against Liverpool on April 11th.
With City yet to secure fourth spot in the Premier League and the final Champions League spot Mancini knows he must use his strongest side possible to overcome Spurs.
Fitness doubts over Tevez remain, although Mancini is confident the club's talisman will be fit to assume a place on the club's bench ahead of their FA Cup final showdown with Stoke City on Saturday.
"Carlos can probably be on the bench," said Mancini. "I'm disappointed because if we had won the game at Everton it was finished (race for fourth) and we could have prepared well for the final.
"But now we are thinking only of Tottenham. It is impossible to rest players and yes, I have learned from the Liverpool game.
"It will be very hard. I think that for Champions League qualification we have no problem because we have three games to play and we only need three points.
"But if we want to close this situation we should try to win. It is like having two finals in a week. This is the problem, but now we should try to win against Tottenham."
