Wolves are set to sign Manchester United and Republic of Ireland midfielder Darron Gibson on a three-month loan deal.
United manager Alex Ferguson said some of his young players would be available on loan following Carling Cup defeat to Coventry.
Gibson has made just one appearance for United's senior team and is expected to be signed in time for Charlton's trip to Molineux on Saturday week.
Mick McCarthy, the Wolves manager, said: "He's a talented midfielder that will bring us real competition for places in central midfielder. He's only 19 but has a good range of passing."
Gibson is not in the Ireland squad for Saturday's European qualifier against Germany and the match against Cyprus four days later owing to a toe injury.
