Bohemian’s Jason McGuinness has been banned for five games after racially abusing Romauld Boco of Sligo Rovers during a league match last month. The suspension will start on May 20th.
McGuinness, already been banned for a week by his club and fined a week’s wages, was handed the ban following a meeting of the FAI’s Independent Disciplinary Committee today.
McGuinness apologised both to Boco and to Sligo Rovers officials immediately after the game at the Showgrounds on April 18th and will now spend around a month on the sidelines.
