Derry City have signed highly-rated striker Kevin McHugh from relegated Finn Harps on a two-year deal.
Derry, pipped to the eircom League title by Cork City on the last day of the season, acquired the services of the 25-year-old despite interest from Irish League sides Linfield and Portadown.
McHugh scored 110 goals in 184 appearances for Finn Harps, netting almost half their goal tally last season with 13, but was unable to save the Ballybofey side from relegation.
He becomes manager Stephen Kenny's second major signing of the close season after Bohemians centre-half Ken Oman was added to the squad.
"Derry will be in a lot of competitions next season and joining them will better me as a player. I will have to fight for my place" McHugh told the BBC.
