Republic of Ireland international Paul McShane is reportedly on the verge of a move from Sunderland to Premier League rivals Hull City.
The defender is undergoing a medical at the KC Stadium ahead of his proposed switch, according to Sky Sports News.
Phil Brown's side are believed to have agreed a fee in the region of €2.3million to secure the services of McShane.
The 23-year-old joined Hull on a season-long loan deal last season before being recalled in January by former Black Cats boss Ricky Sbragia.
McShane suffered a knee injury in a pre-season friendly at Darlington in July which was initially expected to keep him out for three months after surgery.
But Sunderland manager Steve Bruce revealed on 12th August that the defender was ahead of schedule and was closing in on a return to training.
McShane is now expected to complete his switch to East Yorkshire provided he comes through the medical and agrees personal terms.
