Champions League round-up: Lionel Messi double secured a 3-2 Champions League victory for Barcelona at Celtic Park to put the Catalan giants in the driving seat for the last-16 return leg at the Nou Camp in a fortnight's time.

Celtic had twice taken the lead through Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Barry Robson but their efforts were cancelled out by Messi and Thierry Henry respectively.

Just when the Scottish champions looked set to hold on for a draw, Argentina star Messi grabbed a late winner to inflict Celtic's first Champions League home defeat since 2004.

Arsenal squandered a stream of chances to ensure tonight's clash  at home to AC Milan finished goalless.

Emmanuel Eboue, Cesc Fabregas, Emmanuel Adebayor, Nicklas Bendtner and Eduardo had opportunities to break the deadlock — but failed to land the decisive blow.

Milan, who barely threatened all night, were outclassed for long spells but crucially enter the return leg at the San Siro in two weeks' time on level terms.

In France, Carlos Tevez stepped off the Manchester United bench to grab a magical late equaliser against Lyon.

Tevez ghosted in at the far post after Karim Benzema had opened the scoring with a superb individual effort. But Tevez's goal will give United confidence going into the return leg at Old Trafford in two weeks.

In tonight's final first leg match, Fenerbahce substitute Semih Senturk grabbed a late winner to earn a 3-2 victory over Sevilla.

Striker Mateja Kezman had put the home side ahead in the 17th minute with a close-range header but Sevilla drew level six minutes later when Fenerbahce defender Edu deflected a cross into his own net.

Fenerbahce edged back in front in the 57th minute when Lugano met a corner from Alex with a header that left goalkeeper Andres Palop standing. Sevilla equalised again within 10 minutes when Julien Escude fired the ball home from close range.

Semih sealed the match in the 87th minute when his shot took a slight deflection off a Sevilla defender and beat Palop.
