Tottenham and Egypt striker Mido has apologised to Pharaohs coach Hassan Shehata following his angry exchange after being substituted against Senegal in the African Nations Cup.
However there are no indications Mido will take part in today’s final against the Ivory Coast.
Mido was substituted 11 minutes before the end and was subsequently banned for six months by his country’s football federation.
The hitman, who is on loan at Spurs from Roma, attended Egypt’s training, apologised to Shehata and asked to be forgiven.
Shehata accepted the apology and it remains to be seen if Egypt Reinstate the player.
The coach firmly believes his team, with or without Mido will win the African Nations Cup for a record fifth time.
"We are in outstanding form, and we are very focused and ready to win the final game," he said.
"However, this game is nothing like the first time we met Ivory Coast in this tournament when we won 3-1. This is a completely different story.
"Now we have no other choice but to win."
Today's final kicks off a 4p.m. in Cairo.
