Fernando Morientes completed his move from Liverpool to Valencia by passing his medical today.
Morientes had already agreed a three-year deal with Los Che, after the Merseysiders accepted a bid of around £3million for a player who struggled to adapt to the pace of the Premiership.
The 30-year-old, who spent 18 months at Liverpool after signing from Real Madrid, is delighted to be back in the Primera Liga.
He told his new club's official website, www.valenciacf.es: "I am happy to start a new chapter in my career with this club and in this city.
"I've been very lucky at every club I have played for, and my hope is to achieve a title here for the club and for the fans."
Morientes, who missed out on a place in Spain's World Cup squad after a disappointing season with Liverpool, said: "I never set a target. Because of injuries and form, it is not something I have in my head. The goals will arrive."
