Everton manager David Moyes has been named Barclays Premiership manager of the month after guiding the Toffees through January unbeaten. West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand has been named player of the month.

Following an abysmal start to the season, Moyes has turned Everton’s fortunes around as the Merseysiders climbed to 12th in the table. A home victory over Arsenal was the highlight for Everton, which followed a 1-0 win at Portsmouth.

Ferdinand, 20, has been linked with a move to Spanish champions Barcelona this week and takes the award for best player after an impressive month which saw him score a spectacular volley in the home win over Fulham.

Everton welcome Blackburn to Goodison Park tomorrow while West Ham take on Birmingham at home on Monday.
