Athlone Town 0 Bohemians 0
Athlone remain rooted to the foot of the Airtricity League table after they could only conjure up a scoreless draw against 10-man Bohemians at their Lissywoollen home.
After a lively opening five minutes in which both sides had half chances to open the scoring, the visitors took control of the key midfield battle and started to exexert huge pressure on the hosts.
Dinny Corcoran had a string of great chances to put his side in front, but he failed to find a way past Ryan Coulter, who was in excellent form in between the Athlone posts and single-handedly repelled a string of assaults on his goal.
A second yellow card for Bohs substitute Jake Hyland after 74 minutes shifted the momentum of the tie back in Athlone’s favour and they controlled possession for the closing quarter of an hour, but failed to come close to securing a winning score.
