Two League of Ireland games fall foul of the weather

Longford and Sligo pitches deemed unplayable after inspections took place this morning

Two League of Ireland fixtures have been postponed due to inclement weather conditions, the FAI has announced.

A 9.30 inspection at Bishopsgate determined that the frozen pitch was unplayable, meaning Longford Town vs Cobh Ramblers in the first division, due to take place on Saturday at 7.30 pm, has been postponed.

Sligo Rovers were also due to host Bohemians in a 7.45pm kick-off on Saturday, but that game too has been postponed due to pitch conditions after snow was reported in the Sligo area.

No new date has yet been announced for these two fixtures.
