Bohemians defenders Derek Pender and Anto Murphy were taken off on stretchers as their side had to settle for a point from a dreadfully disappointing draw with Bray Wanderers at Dalymount Park.

Captain Pender was first to suffer an injury to his lower right leg after just 12 minutes. Substitute Murphy replaced him at right-back, but he too went off on a stretcher with what appeared an ankle injury early in the second half.

In a terribly poor game we had to wait until the 88th minute for the only real scoring chance. Bohemians’ substitute Adam Evans whipped a super ball from the left to the far post where Jason Byrne’s powerful header was straight at Bray goalkeeper Stephen McGuinness.

Bray had come to play, and Alan McNally headed over the bar from skipper David Cassidy’s first corner of the game.

A decent penalty shout was denied Bray on 27 minutes as Cassidy appeared to be taken down by Lorcan Fitzgerald.

Adam Evans came on at half-time for Paddy Kavanagh and almost made an immediate impact for the home side. The winger’s cross picked out Karl Moore at the back post and his volley was deflected for a corner. Bohemians’ Robbie Creevy had an opportunity from distance on 75 minutes but dragged his shot wide.
