Manchester United captain Gary Neville has been charged with improper conduct by the FA following his celebrations in front of Liverpool supporters last weekend.
The England defender ran the length of the pitch to celebrate Rio Ferdinand's 90th-minute goal in front of the Liverpool fans by screaming, clutching his shirt and pointing to his club badge.
Manchester police complained about the incident in a letter sent to United and the FA. Neville has until February 10th to respond to the charge.
Team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is also in hot water. He faces a Uefa misconduct charge for gesturing at Benfica supporters in a Champions League match last month.
The 20-year-old Portugal winger allegedly made the one-fingered sign at the Estadio da Luz on December 7th when United were eliminated from the competition after losing 2-1.
Ronaldo played for Sporting, Benfica's rivals, before joining United in August 2003. His hearing has been scheduled for February 2nd.
