Manchester United captain Gary Neville has denied the Football Association charge of improper conduct relating to his goal celebrations during the 1-0 win over Liverpool.

Neville was accused of inciting the Liverpool supporters following Rio Ferdinand's injury-time winner at Old Trafford eight days ago.

The England full-back has requested a personal hearing which will be scheduled in due course.

Michael Ballack's future at Bayern Munich is in doubt again after the German club said they may offer the one-time Manchester United target a more modest contract.
