Northern Ireland 3 Poland 2:Northern Ireland boosted their World Cup qualifying chances with a 3-2 win over Poland in Belfast this evening.

The home team took a 10th-minute lead in the Group Three tie when striker Warren Feeney tapped in a Damien Johnson centre.

Ireneusz Jelen squeezed Poland's equaliser under goalkeeper Maik Taylor 17 minutes later before Jonny Evans restored Northern Ireland's advantage early in the second half.

Northern Ireland went 3-1 up in the 61st minute when Poland captain Michal Zewlakow's backpass bobbled under keeper Artur Boruc for an own goal.
