David O'Leary has revealed his disappointment at Sven-Goran Eriksson's remarks regarding taking over as manager of Aston Villa in a Sunday newspaper article.
Eriksson talked about becoming Villa manager as part of a hypothetical takeover of the club discussed with an undercover News of the World reporter posing as a rich Arab businessman.
But Villa boss O'Leary has vowed to continue to co-operate with England coach Eriksson.
In a statement issued via the League Managers' Association, O'Leary said: "It is not acceptable that the national coach speaks publicly about replacing another manager while he is in the post. I have given Sven every co-operation whenever he has asked and even supported the early finish to the season to allow more time for his World Cup preparation.
"I will of course continue to give the necessary co-operation, but want recorded my dissatisfaction and disappointment at his comments."
