Crystal Palace manager Peter Taylor wants to bring Celtic captain Neil Lennon to Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace manager Peter Taylor wants to bring Celtic captain Neil Lennon to Selhurst Park.

The Northern Irishman, who will be 35 on Sunday, is out of contract this summer and has yet to re-sign for the Parkhead club.

Lennon briefly worked with Taylor at Leicester and the new Palace boss, who recently took over from Iain Dowie, revealed he is interested in renewing their partnership.

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan believes Lennon will stay at Parkhead but Taylor is determined to resign a player he regretted selling six years ago.

Middlesbrough's Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, meanwhile, is keen on a move to Celtic.  The 34-year-old striker said Celtic is a club he would be "charmed" to play for. PA
