Birmingham defenders Franck Queudrue and Liam Ridgewell are available after suspension. But skipper Damien Johnson is beginning a three-match ban for his red card at Wigan. Blues boss Alex McLeish will check on the fitness of creative duo James McFadden (knee) and Olivier Kapo (hamstring) before finalising his side.
Mikel Arteta (muscle pains) is a major doubt and Leon Osman (hip) is also a concern for Everton boss David Moyes. Tony Hibbert (hip) and Steven Pienaar (knee) have also been under treatment this week and face late fitness tests.

The 21-year-old has been Richard Dunne's regular partner in the last month after injury to Micah Richards but his absence means Vedran Corluka is likely to move inside with Sun Jihai coming in at right-back.
