Blues captain and central defender Kenny Cunningham replaces Martin Taylor, who picked up an ankle injury although it is not as serious as first feared. Chris Sutton makes his home debut alongside Emile Heskey but midfielder Nicky Butt (calf strain) and left-back Jamie Clapham (knee) are out.

Pompey will fly Zimbabwe striker Benjani Mwaruwari to the African Nations Cup by private jet on Sunday but Lomana LuaLua has joined up with the Democratic Republic of Congo, so Mwaruwari will be partnered by Emmanuel Olisadebe or Vincent Pericard. Captain Dejan Stefanovic is suspension-free.

Sol Campbell (ankle) is fit for Arsenal but fellow defender Ashley Cole is out after picking up a thigh strain. Pascal Cygan (hamstring) and Gael Clichy (foot) are unavailable but Kerrea Gilbert (knee) returns and Lauren is expected to switch to left-back. Dennis Bergkamp is fit after a virus, Robin van Persie is training again after breaking a toe. while Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue are at the African Nations Cup.

David Connolly, Ryan Taylor, Emerson Thome, Steve McMillan and David Wright are injured, while Henri Camara is on African Nations' Cup duty with Senegal.

Spurs coach Martin Jol has doubts surrounding his main central defensive pairing - Ledley King continues to play through the pain barrier with a persistent groin problem while Michael Dawson has a shin injury. Mido and Noureddine Naybet are on African Nations Cup duty and Paul Stalteri is suspended, but Andy Reid returned to training this week following knee ligament problems.

Villa's Gareth Barry is free from suspension and set to take over from Jlloyd Samuel at left-back as Wilfred Bouma is still sidelined by a knee problem. Lee Hendrie is set for a rare start as a replacement in midfield for Eirik Bakke - who has returned to Leeds after a loan spell. Striker Kevin Phillips will not be risked despite his successful return from ankle surgery for the reserves in midweek.

Marcus Bent hopes to make his Charlton debut but may start on the bench, midfielder Alexei Smertin will not be available under the terms of his season-long loan deal from the Blues, while Danny Murphy, Jerome Thomas and Jay Bothroyd are pressing for recalls. Gonzalo Sorondo (foot) is definitely out and fellow centre-back Talal El Karkouri is on international duty with Morocco at the African Nations Cup.

Right-back Tomas Repka makes his final appearance before joining Sparta Prague.

New signing Wayne Bridge goes straight into Fulham's starting line-up at the expense of Niclas Jensen. Fellow defender Ian Pearce is out with hamstring and back injuries so Alain Goma is likely to start, right-back Moritz Volz returns after a rib fracture but there is a doubt over Steed Malbranque (groin).
