Steven Whittaker and Kris Boyd helped themselves to a double apiece as Rangers romped to a comfortable 2-1 win over Hamilton in the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League.

The pair both netted either side of half-time to ensure the Scottish champions remain at the summit with a 100 per cent record.

Accies did manage to pull a goal back late on through Mark McLaughlin, however their dismal start to the season continues as they remain bottom of the SPL having already conceded 10 goals.

Dundee United are two points behind Rangers at the top after an early second-half blitz was enough to maintain their impressive start to the season and leave Falkirk still without a point.

The Bairns more than held their own in a goalless first 45 minutes but went down 2-1 after conceding twice shortly after the break thanks to Danny Cadamarteri's third goal of the season and David Goodwillie's first.

New loan signing Kjartan Finnbogason pulled one back on his Falkirk debut but United held on to make it seven points from three games.

Stephen McGinn's second-half double earned St Mirren their first league win of the season, 2-1 against a Kilmarnock side missing injured talisman Kevin Kyle.

The impressive Conor Sammon's early goal gave Killie a richly-deserved half-time lead but McGinn volleyed home following slack defending just after the interval.

McGinn further stunned the hosts when his deflected strike gave them a 69th-minute lead and St Mirren produced a much-improved defensive display in the second half to hold on.

Aberdeen and Motherwell cancelled each other out in a scrappy 0-0 draw at Pittodrie.

Motherwell enjoyed the better of the first half and debutant Lucas Jutkiewicz could have had a dream start at his new club but the Polish striker headed wide from six yards after 18 minutes.

The home side looked the more likely of the sides to score in the second period but apart from a couple of half-hearted penalty appeals, McGhee's men created little in the final third.
