SPL: Champions Rangers cut the gap on second-placed Hearts to three points with a comfortable 4-1 win at Dundee United in their Scottish Premier League  clash.

Striker Kris Boyd netted a hat-trick and Dado Prso nabbed the other, while Collin Samuel scored a consolation goal for United.

Croatian forward Prso rifled a spectacular 20-metre shot into the top left for the opener after 30 minutes. Two minutes later Boyd finished off a wonderful passing move with a first time shot past keeper Derek Stillie.

Boyd made it 3-0 after 54 minutes when he tucked home an easy chance after Prso rolled a low cross to the back post.
