Soccer – SPL Review:Rangers put their off-field troubles to one side to claim a 2-1 win over St Mirren that saw them move top of the Scottish Premier League.
The club is facing Uefa disciplinary charges relating to both legs of their Europa League tie against PSV Eindhoven but were able to deliver the goods on the park at Ibrox.
Sasa Papac's opener was cancelled out by Darren McGregor, before Steven Whittaker netted the winner from the penalty spot to send Rangers one point clear of Celtic, who are in Scottish Cup action this weekend.
In today's other game, Inverness and Hearts drew 1-1 following an entertaining clash in the Highland capital in which both sides were foiled by some timely goal-line clearances.
Aaron's Doran's sixth-minute opener had Inverness in front at the interval but Stephen Elliott's 54th-minute equaliser ensured Hearts made it eight games unbeaten at the expense of Caley Thistle.
Ross Tokely was given his marching orders for a second yellow card 12 minutes from time, but the home side held.
