Harry Redknapp has signed a new three-year deal with Portsmouth. The 59-year-old rejoined the club from neighbours Southampton in December, and helped them preserve their top flight status with a strong finish to season.
He has also expressed a hope that son Jamie, the former England and Liverpool midfielder might join his coaching staff.
Redknapp had only initially signed until the end of the season but will now stay at Fratton Park until 2009.
Chief executive Peter Storrie said: "It is nice to get the matter sorted and now we can concentrate on moving this club forwards and upwards to where it belongs.
"The ending to the season was only the beginning as far as everyone connected with the club are concerned and Harry is now the man who will take us on from here."
